Equipment for cleaning warehouse and factory floor areas

If you manage a factory, a warehouse, or maybe a workshop in Sheffield and need to carry out the cleaning of one of more floor areas there is several types of equipment that you can hire to help you get this task done. 

If the floor area that needs attention is a hard surface such as stone or concrete it can be cleaned in several different ways. Another way to clean a soiled hard surface floor is by the use of a machine that is a little more aggressive in the way that it removes dirt and grime. One of these machines is usually fitted with one or more revolving discs that has heavy duty wire brushes fitted. These spin around at a high speed and when contact is made with the floor they scrape away at the surface removing old paint, dirt and grime, and any other old floor covering that may be present.  

Before using one of these machines it is worth going over the area with a heavy duty vacuum cleaner if need be, removing any dust and loose surface particles that may be present. 

Preparing and Profiling a Concrete Floor

If you have stone or concrete floor in a work area that need profiling one such machine that you can choose to hire would be a DFG400 grinding machine fitted with carborundum grinding blocks.

The DFG 400 is an extremely useful item of equipment to have on-hand if you need to surface grind and prepare an area of concrete flooring. Floor coatings, old paint, and ridges and marks in concrete can be "ground-out" by using this machine. 

For the removal and floor preparation of light marks, imperfections, and ridges the carborundum grinding blocks are normally sufficient. For heavier work it is advised that you choose the DFG400 with the optional diamond grinding disc fitted. This attachment is useful for removing form marks, bumps and ridges in most types of stone and concrete floors, as can be found in many factories, garages, workshops, industrial units, and warehouses within Sheffield.   

Removing floor tiles and lino tiles 

The removal of linoleum and vinyl floor tiles requires a totally different type of machine to a concrete floor grinder machine. For the lifting and removal of carpet tiles, lino, and old adhesive a tile lifting machine is needed. 

These are fitted with an oscillating blade on the front of the machine that when inserted into the leading edge of a tile it breaks the adhesive and effectively lifts and scrapes the tiles up.
